Tree Board seeks volunteers for post-planting watering; sells Red Maple tree kits

The Village of Michiana Tree Board reported progress and volunteer needs at the Aug. 9 council meeting. Nancy Thill (joining via Zoom) said the board has not selected a date for Arbor Day, discussed tracking grant time sheets, and announced that Red Maple tree kits are for sale in the Village office for $10.
Thill said Andrew Arnson volunteered to lead coordination of volunteers to water newly planted trees for about two weeks after planting. The board plans to meet Aug. 21 (time to be announced) to continue planning and volunteer assignment. The Tree Board’s announcements were informational; no council action was recorded at this meeting.
