City and county officials plan police move to community center; project estimated at about $746,000

A county official estimated the construction and transition would take about six to seven months from start to finish, and staff said they expect minimal service disruptions. Commissioners also discussed how to split police and dispatch budget lines in the 2027 budget and requested spreadsheets and line-item breakdowns so each jurisdiction could plan fiscal impact and staffing costs.
Staff committed to share the detailed spreadsheet of projected wages and benefits for dispatch and police to allow the jurisdictions to finalize funding commitments ahead of construction.
