Pratt County will not renew chamber services in current form; seeks interim administrative services

A county official told commissioners the existing contract with the local chamber of commerce expires June 30 and the county is negotiating a narrower interim agreement for administrative and bookkeeping functions.
"The current 1 expires June 30. We're not gonna renew it in its current form," the Committee member said, describing a pause in the broader relationship while the county pursues a short-term solution to keep routine services functioning.
The pause is intended to let county staff refocus core administrative tasks, maintain timely grant and program workflows and buy time to determine future service needs. The official said the arrangement is planned to be temporary — roughly six months — while the county works on longer-term staffing or contract options.
Commissioners said the housing incentive and neighborhood revitalization work are connected to these administrative arrangements and that the county needs timely bookkeeping to keep program applications and awards moving.
