County accepts PCoMP wellness and safety grants to fund training, mold abatement and courthouse security

The Mercer County commissioners accepted two grant awards from the County Commissioners Association of Pennsylvania (PCoMP) on Jan. 8 to cover wellness- and safety-related expenses from 2025.
Resolution 2026-015 accepted a Wellness Improvement Program grant for $2,647.72, which the minutes specify will offset CPR/AED training costs for county employees ($1,620.00) and water-filter replacement at E911 and CYS ($1,027.72). Resolution 2026-016 accepted a Safety Improvement Program grant for $35,000 to offset mold abatement services in the Maintenance Department ($32,000.00), installation of an outside courthouse perimeter security camera ($2,968.53), and winter anti-slip mats for the courthouse entrance ($684.00).
Both grant acceptances were moved by Commissioner McGonigle, seconded by Commissioner Finley and recorded as approved without opposition. The resolutions list discrete expense line items and the amounts to be offset; no additional matching or conditions were recorded in the minutes.
