Weatherford proclaims Aug. 14 as James Hamilton Day

"Now, therefore, I, Paul Paschal, mayor of the city of Weatherford... hereby proclaim 08/14/2024 as James Hamilton Day in the city of Weatherford," Paschal read as he presented the proclamation.
The proclamation recounted Hamilton’s ties to Weatherford College and Weatherford High School, his leadership in the Optimist Club and his dedication to students and local history. The proclamation noted Hamilton passed away June 25, 2024, and will be laid to rest on Aug. 14 at East Greenwood Cemetery. Council and attendees gave a round of applause in recognition of his service.
