Winhall projects six-figure short-term rental revenues; board weighs staffing increase

Christie Boswell, who administers the town’s short-term rental program, clarified the FY25 staffing and budget request, saying she expects more administrative work during the transition and that she is "planning to collect more than $100K, with $164K being brought in already through October." Boswell said 79 licenses have been issued, 50 applications are in process and roughly 75 additional units are being tracked.
Board members raised the possibility of boosting the STR Administrator line to reflect the workload; one suggestion was adding $55,000 to line #65500 while Boswell estimated $42,000 would cover 30 hours per week during the transition. The Select Board asked to discuss the line again at the general meeting and recorded the STR revenue projections as part of the draft budget discussion.
