Controller flags Veterans grant, clerk wage request and childcare funding needs

Controller Williamson presented several operational and budget items to the Montmorency County Board of Commissioners during the June 11 meeting.
Williamson reported a Veterans Office grant in the amount of $54,779.00 that will take effect on Oct. 1, 2026, and noted a Clerk request for a wage adjustment for Kelly Braden to Grade 2, Step 4 (the request was marked "done" in the minutes). Williamson also provided updates on a lease vehicle, a prosecutor's temporary request for additional hours (up to 40 hours per week) until a new part-time person is hired, and an audit that is wrapping up.
The controller said child care funding and a budget transfer will be needed and noted that an MMP grant has been amended; union negotiations are ongoing. The minutes record these items as part of the Controller's report but do not show board action on these specific items during the June 11 meeting.
