Board authorizes comp/PTO payouts for two employees and delegates administrative approvals
Summary
Montmorency commissioners authorized payouts of earned compensatory time and PTO for two employees transitioning from hourly to salaried chief-deputy roles and empowered the Controller to process similar future payouts administratively when consistent with policy and budget authority.
The board approved a motion May 14 authorizing payment of earned but unused compensatory time and/or paid time off for Lori Curwin and Camille LaPorte as they move from hourly to salaried chief deputy positions. The action was moved by Chair Mary Hardies and passed unanimously.
Minutes indicate the board also delegated authority to the Controller/Administrator to administratively process and approve similar payouts going forward, provided such payouts follow county policy, documented earned balances, and existing budget authority. The board noted that such payouts may require budget amendments and that the Controller should ensure documentation is maintained.
