Commissioners announce town-hall dates; approve hires, separations and appointments

The Board approved several human-resources resolutions (Resolutions #2026-042 and #2026-043) recording new hires, transfers and separations across departments including E911, CYS, Building/Grounds, Coroner, Conservation District, District Attorney and JAIL. Motions were moved by Commissioner Finley and seconded by Dr. Coleman.
Commissioner Coleman reported the final STMP Project report earlier in the afternoon, noting the county’s management was generally well run and that the report included infrastructure recommendations and goals. She announced three Commissioner Town Hall meetings set for Feb. 24, May 12 and Sept. 22. Elections Director Thad Hall told the Board that petitions for precinct committees will be available at his office and the Elections Office website and may be circulated Feb. 17 through Mar. 10 until 4:30 p.m. The Board also confirmed reappointments to local boards including David Stabile to the City of Sharon Sanitary Authority for 01/01/2026–12/31/2030 and two reappointments to the Mercer County Conservation District Board (James P. Rust and Jeremy Albert).
