Commission approves multiple May 6 construction bids including $13.49M Gregory County resurfacing contract

Sam Weisgram, Office of Project Development, presented the May 6 bid letting results to the Commission and identified multiple low bidders across a range of projects. Notable awards from the May 6 letting included Spencer Quarries Incorporated’s $13,487,504.59 low bid in Gregory County for cold milling, asphalt concrete resurfacing, pipe work and intersection improvements; TRU‑FORM Construction’s $1,308,932.10 award for intersection and lighting work in Lawrence County; and multiple overlay and restoration contracts to BX Civil & Construction and others.
On a motion by Don Roby, seconded by Lynn Jensen, the Commission approved bids 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 10 and 11 from the May 6 letting by unanimous roll call vote. These awards cover projects across the Mitchell, Sioux Falls, Huron, Yankton and Winner regions and include pavement restoration, concrete repair and surface treatment contracts.
