Board hears progress report on field, gym floors and bubble installation

Superintendent Dr. Anselon provided a facilities update, sharing new photos of the athletic field (logo in place, soccer lines marked) and saying the district expects to clear remaining work "in at least another week or so" before students can use the field.
He described contingency plans for fall athletics: boys tennis has temporary courts available for one or two weeks if work is not finished by Aug. 24, and the inflatable bubble planned for October requires wide footing and anchoring that revealed unexpected historic light posts during excavation. "We really can't go beyond that" for the temporary tennis contingency, he said, signaling a narrow window for contractors to finish work.
Dr. Anselon also reported completed gym floor projects at Liberty and Camas High School and said the CHS roof work is nearing completion, with only equipment remaining on site. The board asked questions about scheduling and oversight, and the superintendent said district leadership (including Mr. Williams and Sherman) is monitoring progress.
