"Bronx House is what you call a community center," CEO Sinclair Hollingsworth said. He described the performing-arts wing as a place where students and families "get an opportunity to touch, learn, and feel, and play instruments, whether drama, dance." He also said Bronx House runs summer camp and day programming that aim to expose children to activities outside the two-mile radius of many neighborhoods.
Hollingsworth described the day camp hosted in Pearl River at Henry Kaufman Park, with a pool, lake and rock wall, and said buses bring Bronx children to the site. For Bronx residents seeking services, Hollingsworth said the front desk at 990 Pelham Parkway is the entry point: "Just stop in. The front desk receptionist, you have questions, we have answers."
