Sam Weisgram, Office of Project Development, presented bid letting results from mid‑June. The minutes list specific awards: a PCC sidewalk in Minnehaha County to Journey Group Companies for $204,124.60 and a bridge deck treatment contract to Dakota Seal Holdings, LLC for $249,844.50. Commissioner Lynn Jensen moved and Commissioner Mike Vehle seconded approval of bids #1 and #3; the motion carried with all present voting aye.
Separate motions addressed other bids: a structure removal bid was approved conditionally (motion by Don Roby, seconded by Mike Vehle) pending verification of the contractor's licensing with the South Dakota Department of Revenue by July 6, 2026; a mowing and weed spraying bid for Turner County was rejected (motion by Chris Frick, seconded by Jaf Karim). Weisgram asked the Commission to add a special conference-call meeting on Aug.13, 2026 at 9 a.m. CT to consider contract awards including the Platte–Winner Bridge project; the Commission approved adding the special meeting (motion by Ron Rosenboom, seconded by Jaf Karim).
