Rick Schaffer introduced Sterling Aaron from the City of Hudson Oaks to present a biannual update on the wholesale wastewater contract and progress on the Willow Park treatment plant partnership.
Sterling Aaron said Willow Park is constructing the treatment facility at 300 Crown Point Boulevard and that '25the project's treatment plant construction is anticipated for total completion of October 2025.' He told the board Weatherford's responsibility is to build a lift station and a roughly 0.25'mile line to tie into Willow Park's system; Weatherford will be a 20% equity owner and will hold 20% of the treatment capacity.
Aaron walked through design milestones staff have set: 60% design submittals targeted for November 2024, 90% design in January, and 100% design in February, with bidding expected from February through May 2025 and a contract award in May 2025 so construction of Weatherford's line can begin. He said the Willow Park facility already has the necessary permit and Weatherford's line will utilize that permit. Board members pressed on contract execution and confirmed an agreement between the parties is in place.
The presentation concluded with staff offering to return with further details; the board thanked the Hudson Oaks representative for the update.
