Huntsville adopts interlocal contract with Weber County CSI for forensic services

Huntsville Town approved Resolution 2025-6-5-A adopting an interlocal agreement with Weber County to obtain technical forensic services from the Weber County Crime Scene Investigation (CSI) unit. The agreement establishes a multi-jurisdictional funding and advisory structure for responding to crime scenes and providing forensic laboratory support.
Under the contract, CSI will provide technicians and lab services to participating jurisdictions on a cooperative basis. The monthly and annual cost-share will be based on an approved budget with jurisdiction shares calculated using population and historical call volumes; participating agencies will be invoiced annually. The agreement creates an advisory board composed of chiefs and the Weber County Sheriff to set response protocols and periodically review performance.
The council approved the resolution in a 4–1 roll call vote after edits from the town attorney. Council members said the arrangement secures access to specialized forensic capabilities that would be costly to replicate locally.
