She referenced a petition from five years ago that reportedly had more than 350 signatures and suggested a ballot question or pilot program to test the change. "I propose that we move toward drafting an ordinance to allow 2 to 3 miniature goats on lots less than 0.5 an acre," she said.
Councilors responded to the comment with willingness to explore options; one noted that a neighbor‑consent provision currently exists in the code for certain animals on larger lots and offered to follow up with staff on options and applicability. No public hearing or ordinance vote occurred on the item during the meeting.
