During the June 11 meeting, DOT staff reported a low bid of $1,338,171.60 from Sir Lines-A-Lot, LLC dba Dakota Traffic Services to install centerline rumble stripes across numerous counties in the Pierre region. The counties listed in the award included Bennett, Corson, Dewey, Gregory, Hughes, Jones, Lyman, Mellette, Oglala Lakota, Potter, Stanley, Sully, Todd, Tripp and Ziebach.
Commissioner Don Roby moved to approve the centerline rumble stripes contract and Commissioner Mike Vehle seconded; the motion was adopted unanimously by roll call. The award is intended as a roadway safety improvement; no public comment or conflicts were recorded at the meeting.
