Brookings County commissioners voted unanimously to approve two construction change orders on Feb. 17, adding a combined $127,478.56 to contract costs. Highway Superintendent Brian Gustad presented background information before the board approved Change Order #2 for the Samara Avenue Improvements (+$51,745.45) and Change Order #1 for structure and approach grading (SN 06-227-230, PCN 08F4) for $75,733.11.
Gustad said bid openings for other county projects are scheduled for March 3, 2026 and that he would provide bid recommendations during the next meeting. The board also approved payment to Timmon’s Construction in the amount of the change order. All motions passed on unanimous votes.
