Brookings County Weed & Pest Board approves agenda, prior minutes and adjourns

Chairperson Steve Olson called the Brookings County Annual Weed & Pest Board to order at 1:00 PM on Feb. 26, 2026, at the Brookings County Outdoor Adventure Center. The board recorded members Steve Olson, Tim Bauer, Paul Johnson, Randy Meyer and Doug Post as present; Olson announced Jeff Grendler of the South Dakota Game, Fish & Parks would not present due to illness.
Meeting business proceeded by motion. Tim Bauer moved and Randy Meyer seconded approval of the agenda; the transcript records all members voting “aye” and the motion carried. A separate motion to approve the minutes from the Feb. 27, 2025 annual meeting—moved by Danny Nelson and seconded by Steve Knutson—also passed with all members voting “aye.” The meeting adjourned at 1:52 PM after a motion by Scott Moberg, seconded by Gary Buthe, which carried unanimously. The board scheduled its next annual meeting for Thursday, Feb. 25, 2027.
