Legislature moves unused opioid-settlement funds to CASA-Trinity AIR program and appropriates $45,000 for local recovery services

The Legislature authorized rolling $57,435.17 of unused 2025 opioid-settlement funds into 2026 for CASA-Trinity AIR services and appropriated $45,000 to support the Recovery Center and AIR services in Steuben County.
Steuben County approved the rollover of $57,435.17 in unspent 2025 opioid-settlement funds to continue support for CASA-Trinity’s prevention, harm-reduction and outreach work. Separately, the Legislature authorized a $45,000 appropriation from NYS OASAS Regional Abatement Opioid Settlement Funds to support the Recovery Center and AIR services in Steuben County.
The Human Services Health & Education and Finance committees recommended the measures. The Director of Community Services is authorized to extend agreements needed to continue program funding; certified copies of the resolutions will be forwarded to the Director and the Commissioner of Finance.
