Steuben County awards $425,000 construction inspection contract for Cohocton River bridge; 95% federal Bridge NY reimbursement anticipated

The Steuben County Legislature authorized entering into a $425,000 Construction Inspection and Support Agreement with C & S Engineers for the County Route 4 bridge replacement over the Cohocton River in the Town of Campbell. The project will begin in February 2026 and is expected to be completed in fall 2026.
The resolution authorizes the county to initially pay 100% of inspection costs, with the understanding that qualified costs are eligible for 95% reimbursement from Bridge NY federal funds. The County Manager is authorized to execute the agreement and reimbursement requests with the New York State Department of Transportation.
The measure passed by roll call vote; the resolution text notes prior design and right-of-way work and that construction has been awarded.
