The Steuben County Finance Committee approved multiple interfund transfers at its Feb. 10 meeting, moving remaining project balances into central accounts to fund future capital and maintenance work. The largest single reallocation was $1,276,103.04 moved from road project funds into the Road Improvement Unassigned account to centralize leftover road project balances for upcoming work.
The committee also approved moving $151,411.26 from the Smith Hill Bridge project to a Future Bridge Projects account to consolidate spare funds, and authorized a $50,000 transfer from various surplus capital projects into the Spill Prevention Control Capital Project to cover that program's costs. The Sheriff's Office was granted authorization to shift $16,000 from the 2025 Jail Major Equipment line to a 2026 booking countertop line to complete that project. All motions carried unanimously, with routine resolutions required for several items. The committee's votes were recorded as carrying 4-0.
