Selectwoman Monica McNally updated the Board of Selectmen on Great Island on July 13, 2026, saying updated Rules & Regulations have taken effect and are available on the town website. She reported police continue to monitor the property as retaining wall construction proceeds along 23A.
McNally said the second retaining wall is expected to be complete in the next couple of weeks, after which 23A can be opened to vehicle traffic during daytime work on the final wall. She also reported that the wrought iron gate at the entrance is being restored, that landscape screening will proceed once weather allows, and that a stop bar and crosswalk will be painted at the entrance between Ring's End Road and the sidewalk on Great Island. The design committee is scheduled to meet July 16, 2026; Reed Hilderbrand will take a more in-depth look at the boardwalk, planting, site amenities and lighting, and presentations are posted on the Great Island page of the town website.
