Board adopts DD82 improvements and directs engineer to finalize plans and seek bids

After closing the hearing, supervisors adopted the improvement project for Drainage District 82 (Laterals 33B and 40B) "as modified to best suit the desires of the district" and instructed the engineer to prepare final plans/specifications and proceed to bid letting; the motion (Stecker/Hawes) carried by voice vote.
Following public comment and the engineer's presentation, the Kossuth County Board closed the DD82 public hearing and voted to adopt the improvement project as modified. Supervisor Stecker moved to adopt the project; Supervisor Hawes seconded. The board approved the motion by voice vote and directed the engineer to proceed with final plans, specifications and a bid letting.
The board and engineer emphasized that final assessments and the detailed reclassification schedule will be determined later, based on final bids and refined project costs, and that design changes to accommodate landowner access or alignment requests will be considered during final design.
