Patty Allen, who identified herself as support‑staff president during public comment, asked the board why a new human‑resources job description was on the agenda when the district recently reduced staff and negotiated rep assignments. “Just curious why we are adding positions when we have all of the reps that were happening in the spring,” Allen said.
Dr. Kellogg responded that approval of the job description is the first step and the position had not been advertised. He explained the district intends to shift duties and create redundancies so that existing employees can take on additional responsibilities—particularly in transportation—without necessarily increasing total salary cost. “The job has not been advertised yet,” Dr. Kellogg said; administrators described the approach as seeking internal efficiency and cross‑training rather than immediately hiring a new full‑time additional staffer.
