Jen told the board that SPRD’s general fund budget for the upcoming year is $1,900,000 and that the district built a capital reserve after COVID rather than rely on a line of credit. She said the district expects to end the fiscal year with roughly $60,000 in the capital reserve fund and noted this allowed the district to avoid borrowing to cover short-term cash-flow gaps.
Jen described hiring and staffing choices tied to sustainability: FY27 is budgeted for 13.85 FTE but SPRD currently operates near 11 FTE (about 18 people including part-time staff), with two full-time exempt positions (the speaker and a deputy director). She said staff will continue balancing cost-recovery programs with community-access priorities as the district grows into new facilities.
