Douglas Gibbs, Veterans Services, briefed the Human Services Committee on projects and administrative work on April 6. He said final measurements and plans are in place to build a Wall that Heals display case and that the Veterans Memorial Park design is being discussed with Cornell. He announced an all-female Honor Flight with Honor Flight Rochester scheduled May 16'17.
Gibbs stressed verification needs for veterans exemptions: staff mailed 120 letters and received only 19 returns, verified paperwork for 47 of 175 records, and left 128 records unverified; he asked legislators to assist with town-level verification. The committee accepted the Veterans report as information.
