Buildings & Grounds moves ahead on VFD bid, HVAC specs; approves Farmer’s Market and concert use

Joe Reed presented the Buildings and Grounds report, which the Committee accepted as information. He noted that weights and measures inspections were largely in order except for some visual stickers on gas pumps and reviewed a 2025 utility data comparison using NYSERDA propane averages and the 2024 propane contract price, observing that natural gas was saving considerably over propane while overall costs are increasing.
On capital items, the Committee reviewed the Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) replacement project; the Committee considered a bid and will move the award forward. For Legislative Chambers HVAC, MJ Mechanical Services was asked to produce drawings and specifications before the project goes out to bid. Reed also reported on several testing and inspection items and quarterly goals.
On facility use requests, the Farmer’s Market provided a signed form with indemnification and insurance for parking lot use and the Committee approved moving forward; a courtyard use request for the annual concert series was noted as already granted by Mr. Reed. The minutes record Committee acceptance of the report and no objections to advancing the listed resolutions to the April 13 Legislative Meeting.
