County OKs three-month PeerStar contract to expand crisis peer support

The Lancaster County Board of Commissioners approved on April 15 a three-month agreement with PeerStar, LLC of Clifton, N.J., to provide certified crisis peer support alongside the county Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (BHDS) Crisis Intervention team.
The contract totals $83,031 and covers April 1–June 30, 2026. The minutes list funding as coming from a Community Mental Health Block Grant Crisis Expansion grant (federal). The motion was moved by Commissioner Joshua G. Parsons and seconded by Commissioner Alice Yoder; the vote was unanimous.
