Lancaster County approves $159,115 VOCA grant application for victim advocates

The Lancaster County Board of Commissioners on April 15 unanimously approved a grant application to the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency seeking $159,115 in Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) funding to support three victim advocates in the District Attorney’s Victim/Witness Services.
The motion to apply was made by Commissioner Joshua G. Parsons and seconded by Commissioner Alice Yoder. According to the minutes, the requested funding would cover salaries and benefits and run from Oct. 1, 2026, through Sept. 30, 2027. The board recorded the funding source as 100% federal. The motion passed unanimously.
