Parks staff updated the committee that the Creekside Park project—part of the Town Center development—will include an elevated boardwalk from Johns Creek Parkway/Medlock Bridge to the lake, a 15‑foot wide path circling the lake, an amphitheater, overlook decks and substantial plantings. Staff emphasized the project also includes stormwater mitigation components to serve the town center as a multimodal transportation and stormwater project.
Erica said construction was temporarily delayed by a recent hurricane that filled the park pond and pushed back dredging work, but staff expects progress to resume with a goal of completing overflow parking and other features next spring. The naming survey for the park is open and staff will bring suggested names to the committee for a November discussion.
