Officials weigh $31.5M–$33.6M options for county building renovation or replacement

"I think the 5-story fully finished building would be the best option for this generation of people and generations to come," Knable said, while noting it will probably require a referendum. Commissioner Jason Sharp agreed with Knable's assessment and said the current building condition is embarrassing.
No funding decision or referendum was scheduled at the meeting; officials indicated the animal shelter site as a potential location and asked for continued planning and coordination.
