Erica, a parks staff member, told the RPAC the Diwali festival is being reformatted from a single large show into a two-day market at City Hall to reduce crowding and improve operateability. "This is not intended to be that thing," she said of the former blowout format, and she described the new plan as a vendor market with performances and vendor stalls across two days instead of one.
On logistics, Erica said the city already conducted a parking study for the town center and will use three primary managed lots (described as green, blue and orange) and on-the-ground staff to communicate closures and direct attendees. "We're literally hiring a parking company to help us manage this parking situation," Erica said. She also confirmed the market will have free admission and that the event cost will absorb professional parking services.
