Canby transit receives new Turtle Top vehicle; wrap scheduled Aug. 10

Canby Area Transit staff presented photos and a delivery update for the agency's new Turtle Top vehicle at the July 23 advisory committee meeting. "August 10 is when we're gonna be, having it start with the wrap," Bridal Mueller, transit operations manager, said, noting the graphic wrap and MDT installation must finish before the bus enters service.
Mueller and staff described the coach as approximately 28 feet (larger than the 25 feet originally expected), a high‑floor design with stairs and a side lift rather than a low‑floor ramp, and equipped with an oversized three‑bike rack that fits fat‑tire bicycles. Staff said they hope the Ford engines and transmissions in the coach will offer better longevity than recent Chevy units and that the vehicle will reduce breakdowns on fixed routes.
