Council approves multiple grants, transfers and capital requests totaling millions

The Floyd County Council approved multiple budget actions on July 8 covering courts, emergency management, community corrections and capital projects. Superior Court 3 requested a Commercial Court grant appropriation of $91,869.63 to fund personnel and fringe costs, including a law clerk salary of $67,132.80; the Council approved the request as advertised.
The Council also approved an Emergency Management LEPC appropriation of $6,780.48 for training and miscellaneous equipment and a $15,000 Caesar Foundation grant for Floyd County Community Corrections to pay for drug-testing supplies, educational materials and professional services. CFO Stan Heil presented a Redwire TIF construction appropriation request of $2,034,695.88 and a cumulative capital bond payment of $244,000; both were approved. Separately, the Council approved transfers for children's immunizations, veteran services and opioid-related training expenditures ($38,025.48 for gang training).
