Ray Mayo told the committee that Flood Control has funded a large Genoa Red Bluff detention-area project and is preparing it for bids. "It's gonna be a large, large project that they've proposed, 1,100 acre feet at a cost of $55,000,000," Mayo said, and added the site is just south of Fairmont Parkway with potential benefits to La Porte.
Mayo said he will bring a map to the next meeting showing phasing and locations. Committee members asked follow-up questions about where excavation material would be taken; staff said they did not yet know disposal plans but agreed to track the information and report back.
