La Porte to stop curbside recycling for Shore Acres; heavy-trash pickup, bag rules explained

A La Porte public-works representative told Shore Acres residents that curbside recycling will not continue after consolidation and directed residents to a drop-off recycling center at 121 North C Street. "The 1 thing that is gonna change is curbside recycling is going away," the public-works speaker said.
Staff said heavy-trash service will be expanded to include Shore Acres as Zone 6 and that the first heavy-trash collections are scheduled for June 10–11. The city is providing high-quality trash bags and reminded residents that the city ordinance requires household garbage to be placed in bags (not loose) for collection. Officials explained that bulky vegetation may be set out as heavy trash (stacked rather than bagged) and that heavy-trash placement is limited to five days before collection and to roughly 10 cubic yards per pickup.
