Lisa Cosby, Charles City County Director of Elections and General Registrar, made a series of operational announcements at the June 8 meeting. "There will be 3 constitutional amendments on the ballot," the minutes record; Cosby also said the Commonwealth rejoined the Electronic Registration Information Center (ERIC) on April 30, 2026 in compliance with Governor Spanberger's Executive Order 13.
Cosby told the board that state-issued badges for Electoral Board members will be sent by the State Board of Elections and must be worn at precincts on election days. The minutes also state that "Hand Counting of Ballots will not be permitted for the November General Election" and that the FY2027 budget bill has not yet been determined by the Virginia General Assembly.
