Elections office reports surge of petitions amid schedule change; director plans retirement

They said petitions have been largely submitted ahead of filing deadlines due to the transition from odd‑ to even‑year elections, and noted there are 15 town and county positions on the ballot this cycle.
Brechko additionally indicated he plans to retire at the end of August. The committee accepted the Elections report as information and moved routine election-related resolutions forward for consideration at the full Legislative meeting.
