County legal counsel presented a renewal for the Cooperative Extension and 4‑H office space that the county rents in the Farm Credit Mall. Counsel said the rent will escalate 2% per year and that the monthly rent for the upcoming year will be $2,032.59, beginning July 1. The lease was revised to continue indefinitely until either party terminates with at least 60 days' notice.
Counsel also noted the resolution includes a finding that the landlord's owner—who also serves (or has served) in other local official capacities—did not participate in the lease decision in an official capacity. The board discussed the arrangement briefly and approved the resolution by unanimous roll call.
