County Engineer Justin Barfield gave a detailed highways update: the bridge on Caldwell Road is complete with one approach finished and work proceeding on the other; the Line Road bridge keyways have been poured so that bridge is essentially complete. Barfield said the contractor for the Rebuild paving project should begin work on County Road 64 next Monday, and the department installed six driveway pipes and three cross drains since the last meeting.
Barfield also reported materials have been ordered to replace the bridge on Round About Road with 84-inch drainpipes, a four-way stop in Black has been installed, and brush-cutting crews have worked on a list of local roads including McCullough, Sardis, Duncan and Mitchell roads. He said, "The bridge should be able to open soon," describing the Caldwell Road work.
