County Attorney Phil Eldridge told the commission that the State requires written resolutions to complete the transfer of a portion of State Highway 52 in Malvern to Geneva County and to formalize a $275,000 construction agreement the State will pay the county. Commissioner Brannon moved to adopt the transfer resolution and authorize Chairman Seay to sign; Commissioner Spivey seconded and the motion passed 4-0.
Commissioner Brannon then moved to adopt the construction-agreement resolution for the $275,000 payment from the State and authorized Chairman Seay to sign; Commissioner Wilks seconded and the commission voted 4-0. Eldridge said the State removed the contested portion that would have entered Houston County and the county engineer agreed with that change.
