The Geneva County Commission voted unanimously to appoint Chairman Toby L. Seay to the Geneva County Public Health Care Cooperative District, filling the county director seat left vacant by the death of Judge Fred Hamic. County Attorney Phil Eldridge explained the cooperative district was formed to issue bonds for Wiregrass Medical Center and includes representatives from the City of Geneva, the City of Samson and one county appointee.
Commissioner Todd Brannon moved to adopt the resolution appointing Chairman Seay; Commissioner Jeff Hatcher seconded and the vote was 4-0. Eldridge noted Seay's appointment would run until October 20, 2028, restoring the county's representation on the cooperative district board.
