Geneva County approves Invitation to Bid and specs for arena panels

The Geneva County Commission voted unanimously on May 26 to approve an Invitation to Bid and accompanying specifications for arena panels and to begin advertising the solicitation. County Attorney Phil Eldridge said he prepared the specifications using materials provided by Chairman Toby Seay and included requirements such as panel descriptions, quantities, brand names, a site visit option, and a builder's risk policy requirement.
Eldridge noted any unforeseen conditions would be handled via change orders because contingency funds are not built into the current specs, and Engineer Justin Barfield agreed to assist the county administrator in producing a larger diagram of the panel design and a contractors list. The bid specifications will be kept on file in the commission office for public review prior to advertisement.
