EMA Director Brian Smith reported to the Commission that "the company hired to prepare the regional Hazard Mitigation plan has begun the work. This project will take several months to complete." Smith asked the Commission to consider options for projects to add to the plan and indicated further briefings will follow as the consultant advances the draft plan.
The hazard mitigation planning process will include multiple months of consultant work and county input. Commissioners received the update and asked staff to bring options and potential projects for consideration in future meetings.
