The Martinsburg–Berkeley County Convention and Visitors Bureau Board voted June 24 to allocate $60,000 from CVB budget line items, splitting $30,000 for the Mountain State Apple Harvest Festival and $30,000 for the Miss West Virginia Organization.
Mark Eisinger, a board member, moved to use existing budget lines so the two organizations would not have to submit through the regular grant process; the motion was seconded by Chanda Williams-Doles and carried by a unanimous vote. The board required that each recipient provide final post-event reports. The board also voted to deactivate the Tourism Advancement Grant and remove it from the CVB website as part of the motion.
