The Dinwiddie County Board of Supervisors voted May 5 to adopt the FY2027–2036 Capital Improvements Plan (CIP), a 10-year planning document the county uses to sequence major capital projects. County staff told the board that the majority of the nearly $17 million-plus the county expects to fund in the upcoming fiscal year is allocated to a courthouse renovation; Supervisor Mark E. Moore moved to accept the resolution and the motion passed on a roll call with all voting aye.
County staff and the board described the 10-year outlook as a strategic planning tool (the county noted it generally is required to do only a five-year plan but the board opted for a 10-year horizon). The CIP was presented ahead of the budget vote; staff said several projects were already subject to preliminary design appropriations and that long-range debt timing anticipates borrowing in the fall to finance construction.
