Sturgis Brown High School earns Purple Star designation to support military families

The board recognized Sturgis Brown High School as a Purple Star School after administrators described staff training and supports for military-connected students. The presenter (Mr. Wilson) said the school completed required learning modules, has liaisons and a youth leadership team to welcome military families, and will celebrate military child month in April.
"Burgess Brown High School is excited ... we have completed all the components to be a Purple Star High School," Mr. Wilson said, noting proximity to Ellsworth Air Force Base and the districts ongoing work across buildings to implement the program.
The resolution was adopted by unanimous vote and will be placed in the official minutes.
