Vice-chairman Chris Frick and the South Dakota Transportation Commission approved a set of bid lettings on June 11, 2026, covering projects across the state that total $4,754,597.01. Sam Weisgram of the Department of Transportation’s Office of Project Development presented the June 3 results, and commissioners voted to award contracts for signs, pavement repair, markings and related work.
The Commission approved six individual awards: grading, PCC sidewalk and culverts (Tru‑Form Construction, $311,541.00); a lighting modification (Solar Sound Corporation, $71,808.06); durable pavement markings (Contractor Services, $219,643.75); dynamic message boards (BX Civil & Construction, $2,289,000.00); PCC pavement repair in the Custer area (Reede Construction, $524,432.60); and centerline rumble stripes (SIR LINES‑A‑LOT, DBA Dakota Traffic Services, $1,338,171.60). Motions to approve the specific bids were made and seconded by commissioners on the record and carried by unanimous roll call vote. The meeting adjourned at 9:12 a.m. CT.
