Parks update: Emerson Park repairs, Deauville Island projects and contracts move forward

DelloStritto also reported parks staff assisted with grant applications for Deauville Island bridge replacement (Northern Border Regional Commission pre‑application approved; full application submitted Oct. 9), playground improvements (NY BRICKS application submitted Aug. 15) and an inflow/infiltration study funded by an awarded $48,000 EFC grant for park sewer issues. The committee approved a one‑year license with Owasco Paddles, LLC to operate kayak and paddleboard rentals at Emerson Park, and authorized removal of a shelter at the park (both passed by recorded motion). Friends of Emerson Park continue fundraising for the Destination Playground and have scheduled holiday fundraisers and events.
